Overview

The Sales Manager is responsible for growing and maintaining sales of commercial laundry products within our Direct Distribution channel. Key aspects of this position include leading and developing a team of sales representatives within their assigned markets, executing and implementing results-oriented sales strategies, creating and maintenance of business relationships with customers, and pre and post-sales support. 

 

The Sales Manager role will be assigned a territory within their designated region and will be responsible for growing and maintaining sales in a variety of different areas while following the Alliance Laundry Systems quality standards policies and procedures. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of sales professionals and achieve objectives through effective planning, goal setting, data analysis and future performance projections.  

  • Develop and implement sales strategies that result in increased sales through previously and newly identified geographies or customers.  

  • Implement company directed sales programs, promotions and strategies to achieve volume and profit plans while expanding market penetration.  Leverage the full portfolio of solutions to meet the needs of the customer. 

  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with accounts. Aid these accounts in several key disciplines, including but not limited to training on product features and benefits, revenue enhancement opportunities, and general technical support. 

  • Stay abreast of competitive activity in the assigned sales territory from the standpoint of products, promotional materials, sales techniques, pricing, warranty and marketing practices and provide feedback to help identify emerging market and customer trends and opportunities. 

  • Provide cost and profit analysis on all completed sales orders to submit to administrative staff for accurate costing and commission reports. 

  • May represent company at trade shows, as well as, presenting at sales meetings, regional 
    meetings, and other events. 

Qualifications

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or related field preferred. 

  • 5+ years of work experience in sales or account management related field with proven track record of outside sales.  

  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. 

  • Working knowledge of management software programs including Salesforce strongly preferred. 

  • Proficient computer skills including using Microsoft Office Suite. 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Sales and business acumen; Proficient at translating technical product information into sales strategy to drive revenue. Ability to understand budget vs forecast of future sales volumes. 

  • Strong analytical skills: able to gather and analyze large amounts of data, identify goals, explore, and select solutions, evaluate results, implement change, and report activities to upper management. 

  • Basic Mechanical aptitude regarding machinery and equipment. 

  • Strong diplomacy skills; Ability to handle conflict management and business negotiation processes; Ability to partner and form strong working relationships fostering a problem-solving approach. 

  • Leadership skills: demonstrates trust and respect for others, looks for ways to build positive relationships on the work team, able to communicate expectations and coach and develop employees for success. 

  • Solid organizational skills; Ability to self-manage workload and multiple projects simultaneously while managing and meeting tight deadlines. Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills; Communicate effectively and professionally across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders; Confidence in creating and delivering presentations to internal and external customers.  

  • Strong work ethic; Self-starter, demonstrating a proactive approach, self-initiative, and tenacity. Resilient; Able to confidently navigate ambiguity and change. 

 

Travel: 

  • Ability to travel 70% of the time within assigned market. 

 
Standard and Physical Requirements: 

  • Position involves sitting for prolonged periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, and bending.  

  • Position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally. For greater weight items assistive devices will be provided. 

  • Must have a valid driver’s license. A company vehicle may be provided. 

  • Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
